He says: Friday are sweet

My favorite part of Friday: is the anticipation of two days in a row that I don’t have to do anything. This means weekend fun, and plenty of time to workout.

The problem with Fridays: is it’s a work day AND a “fun”day – I usually push myself hard and get tired by the the fun part.

This morning, I woke up early and ran 5.5 miles and then geared up for eight hours of boat building. This stage of manufacturing is physically demanding, and by the end of the day my legs were dead and I was exhausted! By closing time, the only thing going through my mind, on this 98 degree day, was grabbing a beer out of the fridge and deciding on dinner.
This was the old shop in Seattle
Dinner tonight had a North Shore Hawaiian flare. SHE and I have been to Oahu twice.  Both times we live on the cheap by seeking out local spots. One of our favorite meals was eggs, rice and Portuguese Brand sausage.

Old favorite Hawaiian breakfast

Tonight I fixed the healthier version of this favorite and substituted chicken for the sausage and added a little avocado. This cheap and easy meal hit the spot perfectly!

Now, here’s the “fun”day part . . . .

Off to see some live music at The Downtown Tavern. I love live music and its a great way to unwind and kick start the weekend.
